I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year! This fall was my busiest season ever and I am honored that so many people have chosen me to take their senior portraits in the Charlottesville area!
Tonight on my blog we have Matt, one of my senior spokesmodels from Fluvanna County High School’s Class of 2017. Matt is so awesome in front of the camera, seriously it’s like working with a real GQ model!! 🙂 I love his serious model stare so much, that it’s a struggle to remember to tell him to smile!
We had his session in downtown Palmyra area. I love that within this small location, I can get so many different looks out of a session. We were in the middle of the County but managed to get a little of a natural and a little of an urban feel to the photos. It was the perfect combination with Matt’s awesome style. Thanks for another fabulous session Matt…I look forward to the next time! Especially your John Mayer Icon Session!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year! I am unbelievably behind on adding senior portrait sessions to my website so one of my goals is to get is updated ASAP. Last fall was my busiest season ever and I am honored that so many people have chosen me to take their senior portraits in the Charlottesville area !
Tonight on my blog we have Amber, a senior from Louisa County High School’s Class of 2017. We met up at her at her Great Aunt & Uncle’s farm in Mineral, Virginia. It was with out a doubt, one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in Virginia! There were so many fantastic spots on the farm, I could spend a whole week there and still not use them all!
It was actually sprinkling on the way to the session but as soon as I arrived, the rain stopped and the sun came out…it was perfect timing! At the end of the session, we took advantage of the gorgeous sunset and had Amber get in the water. She probably though I was crazy when I asked her to sit (and then lie down!) in the water but she was up for anything I threw at her! The last few photos were some of my favorites of all time…Amber you are absolutely stunning! Thanks so much for a wonderful afternoon Amber & Heather! I had so much fun with you guys and wish you nothing but the best with your future Amber. Enjoy the rest of your senior year!

Sadie | MHS | 2017 – Senior Portraits Charlottesville
I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year! I’m playing catch up with adding senior portrait sessions to my website and one of my goals is to get it updated as soon as possible. Last fall was my busiest season ever and I am honored that so many people have chosen me to take their senior portraits in the Charlottesville area !
Tonight on my blog we have Sadie, my senior spokesmodel from Monticello High School’s Class of 2017. The weather wasn’t looking too promising on the day of Sadie’s session, it was overcast and kind of dreary looking. The minute Sadie got in front of the lens though, it didn’t matter…she lit the whole scene up with her gorgeous self! 🙂 She also chose some of the best outfits for her session…the sweater with the open back was one of my favorites!
We had the session at a friend of Sadie’s house in Crozet, Virginia. I’m always a little nervous having a session at a place that I’ve never been to before but I shouldn’t have worried. The location was fantastic! Tons of ivy and evergreen trees, open fields and an awesome weathered barn. At the end of the session, we went to a nearby field with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The fog on them was so beautiful! We totally lucked out too because seconds after I loaded up my gear, it started raining! Thanks for another fabulous session Sadie…I look forward to the next time!

Eva | FCHS | 2017 – Charlottesville Senior Portraits
Tonight on my blog we have Eva, a senior from Fluvanna County High School’s Class of 2017. I photographed Eva’s older sister Mary Garner a few years ago so I was really excited to work with this family again. They are so friendly and outgoing and I knew I’d have a wonderful time during the session! We started out in my studio so I could take Eva’s formal yearbook photo. In no time flat we had a fantastic yearbook photo and then we were ready to move outside. That’s one of the many things I love about outdoor sessions! While Eva looks beautiful in her photo, her lifestyle session really let her personality shine through!
We started in the downtown Palmyra area where Eva and her family many fond memories. During Mary Garner’s session, I took a photo of her sitting in a tree. For Eva’s session she climbed up into the same tree but she put her own spin on it by bringing a book with her! As you can tell by the photos, Eva loves to read and loves books! It’s so awesome that some of the books she brought with her are the same classics that I read when I was younger! Nancy Drew, Laura Ingalls Wilder…she even brought Heidi and Little Women!
We finished up the session at their family farm. It’s such a gorgeous place, and they have a bunch of horses running around! Thanks so much for a great afternoon! I had the best time spending the afternoon with you guys! Eva, enjoy the rest of your senior year and good luck with your future. I know you have an amazing life ahead of you!

Apparently the horses didn’t feel like any close up shots but you can see them in the background. There were a ton of them!

Tyler | Fluvanna County High School – Class of 2017 – Senior Portraits Charlottesville
Tyler | FCHS | 2017 – Senior Portraits Charlottesville
Tonight on my blog we have Tyler, a senior from Fluvanna County High School’s Class of 2017. Nothing makes me happier then when seniors personalize their senior portraits and Tyler sure did that! She wanted to have part of her session in the FCHS weight room where she lifts on the Power Team, part on the a softball field, and part outdoors. I was super happy to accommodate her! While I’ve photographed both softball and baseball players, this was my first time photographing someone lifting weights!
We started out in the weight room…I was blown away by how much equipment there was! I guess that lets you know that I never go to the gym! 🙂 Tyler was right at home though and is in such amazing shape! Seriously, she was holding that 40 lb weight like it was nothing, all the while looking like a super model! The time in the weight room flew by and we headed outdoors to one of my favorite spots in the county. Even though it was mid-September, everything was still green and the light spilling through the trees was so beautiful! While we’re on the subject of beauty, let me take a minute to gush about Tyler’s eyes…they are so gorgeous! Sometimes they looked blue and sometimes green. I know that happens to a lot of people with blue eyes but you can really notice it in her photos!
Finally we took a quick trip back to FCHS to finish up the softball portion of the session. We timed it so perfectly and were rewarded with the most incredible sunset at the very end! It was the perfect end to a perfect day. Thanks so much for a wonderful afternoon Tyler & Michelle! I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with you guys! Enjoy the rest of your senior year!

Tyler also plays volleyball so this photo was a nod to all three sports! It almost looks like an ad for Nike!
