I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year! This fall was my busiest season ever and I am honored that so many people have chosen me to take their senior portraits in the Charlottesville area!

Tonight on my blog we have Matt, one of my senior spokesmodels from Fluvanna County High School’s Class of 2017. Matt is so awesome in front of the camera, seriously it’s like working with a real GQ model!! 🙂 I love his serious model stare so much, that it’s a struggle to remember to tell him to smile!

We had his session in downtown Palmyra area. I love that within this small location, I can get so many different looks out of a session. We were in the middle of the County but managed to get a little of a natural and a little of an urban feel to the photos. It was the perfect combination with Matt’s awesome style. Thanks for another fabulous session Matt…I look forward to the next time! Especially your John Mayer Icon Session!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year! I’m playing catch up with adding senior portrait sessions to my website and one of my goals is to get it updated as soon as possible. Last fall was my busiest season ever and I am honored that so many people have chosen me to take their senior portraits in the Charlottesville area !

Tonight on my blog we have Ema, one of my senior spokesmodels from Fluvanna County High School’s Class of 2017. The last time I photographed Ema was in my studio during her Marilyn Monroe icon session. If you haven’t checked it out you should, it was absolutely amazing!

This time we had her session outdoors in Charlottesville. It was the very end of October but you would have never know it…it was almost 80 degrees that day! I was actually surprised by how green the grass and some of the trees were! Since it was so warm, Ema chose summery outfits and they went perfectly with the surroundings. Thanks for another fabulous session Ema. As always I loved photographing you and I look forward to the next time!

Tonight on my blog we have Megan, one of my senior spokesmodels from Fluvanna County High School’s Class of 2017. We met at my studio in Palmyra,VA so she could have her make-up done first (Thanks Sydney for the fantastic job!), then we headed outside. Sometimes the best locations are literally in your own back yard! 🙂 We have a ton of evergreen trees and when the light shines through them it’s absolutely gorgeous! Speaking of gorgeous, check out Megan’s eyes! I didn’t change the color at all…they are really that amazing light blue color!

We then headed over to her house for the rest of her session. I’d been there a few years ago to photograph her older brother but this time it was late fall and the landscape had changed a bit. There were tons of yellow flowers everywhere! We also had a fabulous dramatic sky to work with…it was awesome! Thanks for a wonderful afternoon Megan, I look forward to your Taylor Swift icon session!

Tonight on my blog we have Gabby, my senior spokesmodel from Louisa County High School’s Class of 2017. When discussing possible locations with Gabby, she mentioned she wanted to have some of her photos taken down by the river. I was more than happy to accommodate her. The river has become one of my favorite places to shoot! You never really know what to expect down there so each session is always a little different. The day of Gabby’s session there were tons of trees that had turned yellow and they made the background and the water look so cool! It was the perfect contrast to her awesome purple dress!

Before we went to the river though, we took a few shots in my neighborhood. I love having all of these evergreen and pine trees practically in my backyard! Then headed over to the downtown Palmyra area to add a slightly urban feel to a few photos. We’re so fortunate to have so many different locations in our little neck of the woods!

Gabby you are absolutely beautiful both inside and out and your eyes are out of this world gorgeous!! Thanks for a wonderful afternoon…I can not WAIT for your Beyonce icon session!!

Ciana | Monticello High School | 2017 – Senior Portraits Charlottesville

Tonight on my blog we have Ciana, a beautiful senior from Monticello High School’s Class of 2017. I first Ciana met at Starbucks one afternoon in September. I’m sure it can be a little nerve-wracking to have a portrait session when you’ve never even met the photographer before! I was glad Ciana took me up on my offer to have an in person consultation before the actual session date. We went over hair, make-up & outfit choices for the session. I also showed examples of the different areas we could use for the session.

Ciana decided to have her session at one of my favorite places Charlottesville, the Darden School of business. Tons of columns, brickwork and beautiful landscaping all in one small area! Plus, there usually aren’t too many people there during the photo sessions. We practically have the whole place to ourselves which is great if you don’t want an audience.

The day of the session, I met Ciana and her mother Jennifer at my studio. My super talented make-up artist Sydney did Ciana’s make-up and then we took a few of my signature extreme sports portraits. I love these kinds of sessions!! Ciana you look so unbelievable fierce!! Afterward, we loaded up the gear and headed over to Darden. I had the best time photographing Ciana! She was 100% at ease in front of the camera and looked absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks for a fantastic afternoon Ciana & Jennifer! I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with you guys! Enjoy the rest of your senior year Ciana and good luck with your future!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year! I am unbelievably behind on adding senior portrait sessions to my website so one of my goals is to get is updated ASAP. Last fall was my busiest season ever and I am honored that so many people have chosen me to take their senior portraits in the Charlottesville area !

Tonight on my blog we have Amber, a senior from Louisa County High School’s Class of 2017. We met up at her at her Great Aunt & Uncle’s farm in Mineral, Virginia. It was with out a doubt, one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in Virginia! There were so many fantastic spots on the farm, I could spend a whole week there and still not use them all!

It was actually sprinkling on the way to the session but as soon as I arrived, the rain stopped and the sun came out…it was perfect timing! At the end of the session, we took advantage of the gorgeous sunset and had Amber get in the water. She probably though I was crazy when I asked her to sit (and then lie down!) in the water but she was up for anything I threw at her! The last few photos were some of my favorites of all time…Amber you are absolutely stunning! Thanks so much for a wonderful afternoon Amber & Heather! I had so much fun with you guys and wish you nothing but the best with your future Amber. Enjoy the rest of your senior year!

Sadie | MHS | 2017 – Senior Portraits Charlottesville

Tonight on my blog we have Sadie, my senior spokesmodel from Monticello High School’s Class of 2017. The weather wasn’t looking too promising on the day of Sadie’s session, it was overcast and kind of dreary looking. The minute Sadie got in front of the lens though, it didn’t matter…she lit the whole scene up with her gorgeous self! 🙂 She also chose some of the best outfits for her session…the sweater with the open back was one of my favorites!

We had the session at a friend of Sadie’s house in Crozet, Virginia. I’m always a little nervous having a session at a place that I’ve never been to before but I shouldn’t have worried. The location was fantastic! Tons of ivy and evergreen trees, open fields and an awesome weathered barn. At the end of the session, we went to a nearby field with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The fog on them was so beautiful! We totally lucked out too because seconds after I loaded up my gear, it started raining! Thanks for another fabulous session Sadie…I look forward to the next time!
