Charlottesville Senior Portraits | Leslie – FCHS – Class of 2015

Charlottesville senior photography

Happy New Year! After the busy fall I’ve had, I decided to take a little break from my photography world. I really enjoyed spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family but I am super excited to get back to work, which means senior portraits! A few days before Christmas, I met up with Leslie, one of my Fluvanna County High School senior reps. We had her mini-session back in July but with her busy fall schedule, we decided to have her main session in the spring and her personalized senior rep session first!

What is an Ali Johnson Photography senior rep?

A  senior rep is a spokesmodel for Ali Johnson Photography.  Basically, their job is to spread the word about my photography business and represent Ali Johnson Photography.  I’ll give them personalized senior rep cards that they can pass out to any friends and classmates that might be interested in scheduling a senior session with me!

What does an AJP senior rep receive?

  • A free mini-session during the spring or summer before your senior year.
  • A stylized mini session based on the theme that I pick. This year I’m having color inspired session…who know what I’ll come up with next year! 🙂
  • An extended senior session in the fall, including five free gift prints (up to 8×10) and three sets of wallets!
  • A free personalized session in the winter (or early spring) – this can be personalized in any way you’d like. Dance, sports, horses, the sky is the limit!
  • A $20 credit for every senior that you refer to me that books a session. Refer enough people and your session could be completely free!

Charlottesville Senior Portraits | Autumn – MHS – Class of 2015

Charlottesville senior portraits

I’m always a little sad when this time of year rolls around. It gets dark earlier, the days are getting colder and fall senior portrait season is coming to a close. Silver lining though, any day I’m taking senior portraits is a good one and Autumn’s session is no exception! She’s my senior rep for Monticello High School’s Class of 2015 and is so much fun to photograph. You should check out the urban session we had at UVA earlier this year. Autumn totally killed it!

Since she’d already had an urban session back in June, Autumn wanted a natural feel to her fall senior portraits. She suggested Castle Hill Cider . I’d never head of it before but one look at their website and I was in love…It was absolutely gorgeous! Of course, Autumn is so photogenic, she could make a garbage dump look fantastic! 🙂

It was an overcast day but it didn’t matter. The gorgeous fall foliage and surrounding were so beautiful, I didn’t even notice the sun wasn’t shining! It was such a great location, I can’t even imaging how wonderful it would be on a sunny day!

Thanks for another wonderful afternoon Autumn & Michelle! I always enjoyed spending time with you both and can not WAIT until we meet again for Autumn’s personalized session! It involves her horse and we’re hoping for some snow too! Either way it’s going to be totally fantastic!!! 🙂

Charlottesville Senior Portraits | Madeline – CHS – Class of 2015

Charlottesville senior portraits

I’m always a little sad when this time of year rolls around. It gets dark earlier, the days are getting colder and fall senior portrait season is coming to a close. On the up side, any day I’m taking senior portraits is a good one and Madeline’s session sure fits the bill! She’s my senior rep for Charlottesville High School’s Class of 2015 and is an absolute natural in front of the camera! You should check out the urban session we had earlier this year. Seriously, this girl could be a model!

Since she’d already had an urban session back in June, Madeline wanted a natural feel to her fall senior portraits. Considering how gorgeous the leaves were, I think she made the right decision…the colors were absolutely perfect! Speaking of perfect, how fantastic are Madeline’s outfit choices? She picked three different looks that perfectly complimented the surroundings. I was totally coveting the leather jacket and black leggings that she wore!

We started the session at her home in Charlotteville. This proves you don’t have to go far to find a beautiful location for your senior portraits. It might be your own back yard! We finished up the session at a farm a bit down the road from Madeline’s house. It was such a great location, I could have spent another hour or two there! At the very end of the session, I took advantage of the fading light to take some of my most favorite dramatic photos ever!

Thanks for another wonderful afternoon Madeline & Karen. As always, I enjoyed spending time with you both and can not WAIT until we meet again for Madline’s personalized session! I don’t want to give too much away to everyone else, but think dramatic light and old Hollywood glamor…it’s going to be totally amazing!!! 🙂

Charlottesville Senior Photography | Macen – FCHS – Class of 2015

One of the things I love most about senior portrait photography is how personalized each session can be. I’ve photographed football players before but I knew Macen’s session was going to be completely fantastic! He’s the wide receiver for Fluvanna County High School, has been playing football since he was 8 years old and is an amazing athlete!
