Happy New Year! I’ve been a little MIA but I’m back and am continuing to update my website with the Class of 2020 Sports Portraits Charlottesville Virginia!
Today we have Corey, a senior from Fork Union Military Academy. Corey is on my Creative Team for the Class of 2020. Every year I get a few guys on the team and it makes me so happy! I love photographing everyone but being a mom to two boys (22 & 25) makes me a little partial to photographing guys!!
My first time photographing Corey was a quick studio session back in March. It was a great way for me to meet my Creative Team and get them used to being in front of the camera. I decided to put my camera on a tripod, set 2 second timer to go off 20 times and let it go! It was so much fun seeing what they came up with. Especially when I put the antique phone in front of them and told them to play around with it. I don’t think anyone on the team had used a rotary phone before!
As you can see, Corey is an absolute natural in front of the camera! He’s also super nice and his manners? Let’s just say his parents did a fantastic job raising him!
Corey’s senior portraits took place in September. As usual, it was insanely hot and humid so we decided to just focus on the football portion of the session and save the casual portraits for a day when out faces weren’t melting off! I didn’t mind though, sports portraits are my favorites!
I was actually lying on the ground and had Corey jump over me for this one. A little unnerving yes but I’ll do just about anything for the shot!
I mentioned earlier that it was pretty gross outside but Corey didn’t complain or slow down once. Not to mention the fact that he’d already had football practice that day!
I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with Corey and his mom, Stacie. Yes it was hot, humid and the mosquitoes thought we were dinner, but it was a fabulous laugh filled session none the less! I’m looking forward to next time! Oh and thank you Stacie for going to Dollar General to buy bug spray. I forgot to bring mine and she saved me from getting attacked!
