I’m so excited to share the first Creative Senior Portraits with my Senior Models! My previous models had color inspired sessions and the year before the models had icon sessions.
We had a blast planning and photographing the Creative Senior Portraits but this year, I decided that I wanted to change things up. I picked four different themes and I let my models pick the theme that they liked best.
The first themed session we had was Warrior Women. I loved the idea of a tribe of powerful women that could handle anything that was thrown at them. I started thinking of a tribe of Amazon warriors but wanted to combine it with a Mad Max post-apocalyptic feel. All of the clothes and accessories came from either Amazon or Goodwill…including the swords! My husband and I made the spear out of a mop handle, cardboard and leather strips, and we modified the swords with a little silver spray paint.
All three of the models had their hair styled by the always fabulous Mary Neifert. I love working with her so much! I showed her a few examples from my Pinterest board and she went to town!! Look at how fabulous these ladies look!
The makeup was done by three different people so let’s break it down individually!
NaRayal – FCHS | 2018 – Makeup: Courtney Durrer of Lost Cause Beauty
I wanted NaRayal’s look to be powerful but polished. After showing Courtney a few examples on Pinterest ( it’s so easy to keep my thoughts organized on there!) she put her own spin on things. Check out how gorgeous NaRayal looks!!! The gold makeup was the perfect compliment to her skin tone.
Adrianna – LCHS | 2018 – Makeup: Sydney Small
Adrianna’s look is a little edgier. I wanted something feminine but powerful and Sydney definitely accomplished that!! Adrianna looks incredible…her eyes are popping out of the photos!!
Jilian – FCHS | 2018 – Makeup: Jilian
Jilian did her own makeup and had the idea for a painted on black mask. Her look is definitely darker than the other two and I love it!! Fun fact, the earrings Jilian are wearing, actually belong to Mary. She brought them along just in case and they went perfectly with the look. Talk about a beautiful Warrior Woman!
Everything came together better than I could have hoped. The ladies really captured the essence of a tribe of strong Warrior Women!
Next weekend I’ll be photographing the Old Hollywood/Film Noir group. Then comes Victorian Gothic and Vintage Fashion so stay tuned!!
