Before my photography business began, I photographed everything I could get my hands on! My kids, my cats, flowers, but I quickly ran out of ideas. I decided to take a 365 challenge where I would take one photo a day. This was a great way to document my life and improve my photography and lighting skills. One day I wasn’t feeling well so I decided to take two ibuprofen. I decided to draw faces on them with a sharpie and take a photo before I took them. Lucky for me I did because O magazine decided to license them to use in the August 2010 print issue! They also used the photo on their website!
I’ve been a contributor with Getty Images since 2010. It’s always such a great feeling to see one of the images I’ve created being used to represent an idea, product or article. Back when my portrait business was beginning, I had quite a few images selected by Getty.
As my business took off, unfortunately my time to submit images dwindled and I haven’t submitted anything to my catalog in quite some time. One of my goals for the year is to update my Getty catalog.
One of the many perks of being on my Creative Team (formally called Senior Models) is you often get published in National Magazines and on photography websites! I love the fact that my creative photo sessions are used in this way.
While you don’t have to be on my Creative Team for the chance to be published, it certainly helps!
