This fall season is flying by! I’ve been busy taking senior yearbook photos for FCHS, LCHS and a few of the other schools.
If you haven’t taken yours yet, no worries. I’m still scheduling them but the school deadlines are fast approaching!
Tonight on my blog we have Tate, senior from King George High School’s Class of 2019. This was a special session for me because I’ve known Tate since before he was even born! His mother went to college with my husband and we’ve been super close friends ever since. I love the whole family so much…they’re some of my favorite people in the world!
I’ve photographed Tate and his family many times before (I also took his sister Lily’s senior portraits) and I still can’t believe he’s actually a senior in high school! Over the years, I’ve seen Tate change from a shy little boy to a super driven young man with great grades and excellent athletic abilities. I had so much fun looking back at these old photos of him! Not only can you see how much he’s changed over the years but it also shows how my photography skills have evolved! 🙂
We took a few photos of Tate in a casual outfit (dang check out those blue eyes!!) but since it was really hot, we decided to save the rest of the outdoor photos for later on in the year. I didn’t mind though because I was really excited to showcase his skills on the football field!
Tate suggested we take a few football photos without his pads and jersey on, and since his mom didn’t mind, I jumped at the chance! Some people may feel that it’s a little unusual for a senior portrait and I even had a comment questioning it on my Instagram page. I personally didn’t see anything wrong with it but I double checked with his mother. She said “As the mother of this high schooler this is what the picture represents to me. This represents a proper diet, hard work and dedication. This also represents my failure to thrive baby 17 years later. Good job son for never giving up.” What a fantastic response!!
Tate blew me away with his action shots! Time and time again he ran, jumped and fell on the ground hard but he never complained once!
Thanks so much for a fantastic session Tate! Enjoy the rest of your senior year, it will be over before you know it!
