Charlottesville Senior Portraits – Cece – MHS – Class of 2015

Senior portrait season is going strong and I am having so much fun with the Class of 2015! Last week I photographed Cece, a senior from Monticello High School. She wanted her senior portraits to take place at her home in Charlottesville, Virginia. What a great location…I especially loved the split rain fence that they made!

It was a fabulous afternoon, with a beautiful blue sky, tons of sunshine and the leaves were just starting to change. I am so glad fall is finally here, it’s my favorite time of year! I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with Cece and her family. I took Good luck with your future Cece and enjoy the rest of your senior year!

Senior Portraits – Ryan I FCHS – Class of 2015 (Charlottesville VA Portrait Photographer)

I know I’ve said it before but I absolutely love it when seniors personalize their portraits! Ryan from Fluvanna County High School sure did that! We had his session at Pleasant Grove in Fluvanna County. First I took some casual photos of Ryan and then we moved onto the main act!

I’m not into cars, (in fact I’ve had the same mini-van for years) but holy cow, Ryan’s Mustang was beautiful! The day had been a little overcast and as we started taking photos of Ryan with his car, a storm front moved in. The sky was incredible! It kept changing every few minutes and as I took the last photos, it started sprinkling. By the time I had my gear all loaded into the car, it started pouring…talk about perfect timing!

Thanks for a great afternoon Ryan, I really enjoyed spending time with you and your mom! Enjoy the rest of your senior year and good luck with your future!

Senior Portraits – Jacob I FCHS – Class of 2015 (Charlottesville VA Portrait Photographer)

I’ve had clients personalize their senior portraits with sports, ballet, horses, cars and even a motorcycle but this is the first time I’ve had a session that included a kayak! Jacob a senior at Fluvanna County High School wanted his session to include him on the water and I was super excited to accommodate him!

We met up at Westview on the James where Jacob has been both a camper and a camp counselor for many years…what a beautiful place! We started out taking some casual shots of Jacob around the camp and then moved onto the lake. We timed it perfectly! Just as we got there the sun was peeking through trees and turned everything a lovely golden color. You could tell that Jacob was happiest when he was cruising around the lake on his kayak.

I really enjoyed spending the afternoon you and your family Jacob! Good luck with your future and enjoy the rest of your senior year!

Senior Portraits – Joseph I FCHS – Class of 2015 (Charlottesville VA Portrait Photographer)

Last Friday I photographed Joseph, a senior from Fluvanna County High School’s Class of 2015. After taking senior portraits for so many girls, Joseph is the first guy I’ve photographed for this class. Coincidentally, the next two sessions after him were guys too!

Joseph has been playing baseball for about 10 years and plays for FCHS so naturally we had a portion of his senior portraits on the school’s field. It was an overcast day but I love how dramatic the sky looked! Not only does Joesph play baseball but he also plays base in a band call Perfect Slight. They were actually playing at the National in Richmond the very next night! We then moved on to a second location for some natural photos. We were even lucky enough to have the sun come out for a few of them!

Senior Portraits – Siena I MHS – Class of 2015 (Charlottesville VA Portrait Photographer)

I love both urban and natural locations so when I can combine them into one session, it’s perfect! That’s what Siena, a senior from Monticello High School, wanted for her senior portraits and I was more than happy to oblige. We started out in downtown Charlottesville where we visited some of my favorite locations and even found a few new ones. That’s one of the things I love about urban session…things are always changing so no two session are ever the same!

We then moved onto the natural part of her session where we were lucky enough to find a few area with some blooming flowers. Siena was a natural in front of the camera. I hardly had to give her any direction at all…she pulled off every pose I gave her perfectly!

Senior Portraits – Sydney I FCHS – Class of 2015 (Charlottesville VA Portrait Photographer)

Last week I photographed Sydney, another wonderful senior from Fluvanna County High School’s Class of 2015. She wanted her senior portraits to include downtown Palmyra and Pleasant Grove, both beautiful locations. I’ve had many sessions at these locations but every time I seem to find something different! This time the leaves were just starting to turn red on a few bushes and the sun coming through them was absolutely gorgeous!

We then moved onto Pleasant Grove where we were lucky enough to find a field full of yellow flowers. Sydney was so much fun to work with and was totally at ease in front of the camera. Both her serious looks and her brilliant smiles were perfect! Her parents and boyfriend came along to her session and there was no shortage of laughter….I had the best time with them!

Senior Portraits – Lizzie I FCHS – Class of 2015 (Charlottesville VA Portrait Photographer)

Fall senior portrait season is in full swing and I am loving it! Last week I met up with Lizzie, a senior at Fluvanna County High School. Nothing makes me happier then when seniors personalize their senior portraits and Lizzie sure did that! She wanted to have part of her session down by the river and the other on a softball field. I was more than happy to accommodate her!

We spent the first half of the session taking photos down by the river. I’ve shot here a few times before, but Lizzie was the first senior to actually get all the way in the water! When I suggested she sit down and then lie down in the river, she didn’t hesitate. I’m so glad she did…she looks absolutely gorgeous! Then we moved on the the softball fields up at Pleasant Grove. Lizzie has played softball since she was 4 years old and it shows. Talk about some skills! We got that sliding shot of her after the second take! I swear, it looks like someone modeling how to slide!
